Today, The New York State Council of Machinists endorsed army veteran Max Rose for Congress in the Democratic Primary in NY-11. The Machinists are the first labor union to endorse in the Democratic Primary.
“The New York State Council of Machinists is proud to endorse Max Rose in the Democratic Primary,” said Nick Scotto, Legislative Director of the New York State Council of Machinists. “Throughout his campaign, Max has spoken out against corporate greed and government policies that have left the middle class struggling to get ahead on Staten Island and South Brooklyn. Max proved he’s not just another politician by rejecting any and all Corporate PAC money. It’s that kind of courageous leadership we desperately need down in D.C.”
“I am honored to have the support of the New York State Council of Machinists,” said Max Rose. “For too long, corporations and special interests have paid off politicians to rig the system for their benefit, while middle and working-class Americans got screwed over or left behind. It’s time we fight back. I will never be afraid to stand with the Machinists and every New Yorker who wakes up every day and works their heart out to keep this city and country going. Together, we’ll fight for the America we know is possible – one where we can create good-paying jobs as we rebuild our infrastructure, keep our kids safe from gun violence, and ensure every American has access to affordable healthcare.”
